While I made great strides in technical construction with this project, the suit jacket didn’t entirely align with my design language. It ended up being a bit simplicistic and had I gone with a sleeker construction as I sketched or simply a different fabric choice/color, it had a lot of potential to contrast the skirt. The back of the design included feltwork that made this design seem costumey/theatrical. While it adds to the overall aesthetic, it perpetuates the dated feeling.
