Not being at a design school, It’s almost impossible not to feel behind. Up until this project, I’d only been sewing for 5 months and felt lost as to what my creative voice was. I stumbled upon the concept that children create unbound art, as they have no concept of any rules. This is when art is most “free”. I accepted my position as a “kindergartener” and cut and sewn as freely as I wanted- without knowledge of pattern drafting, making, or draping.
